PokerStars Adds Five Events To Live Lineup
PokerStars has announced that it’s adding five events to the PokerStars Live schedule this year, which is good news for players. The PokerStars Megastack, which was played in Dublin in January with a guarantee of about $61,000, will return to Dublin from April 19 to 22 prior to a London visit from April 27 to 29. Those are the first two events but they’ll be followed by the debut of the PokerStars Festival Marbella in Spain from June 4 to 10. This will be a new stop. The next addition is the Megastack Gujan-Mestras in France from June 27 to July 1 and, finally, the PokerStars Festival in Lille will happen from July 16 to 22.
The winner of the main event in London will get a Platinum Pass while in Marbella, the winners of the main event, the cup winner and the high roller winner will also earn Platinum Passes.
Golden Nugget Grand Poker Series Announced
With spring right around the corner, the dates for the Golden Nugget Grand Poker Series have been announced. The highly anticipated event will take place from May 29 to July 3 on Fremont Street in Las Vegas. Of course, the $570 main event is back with a guarantee of $500,000.
The Grand Poker Series at the Golden Nugget is beloved because the buy-ins are often pretty low and a lot of recreational players can participate. Many other poker tournaments are out of reach for the common player. However, at this event, players can win big with minimal entry commitments. You might recall that five players won more than $60,000 last year and there were over 2,000 players. The schedule is extensive and features a lot of no-limit hold’em games, but there are also some Omaha games as well. Catskills Debuts State’s Biggest Poker Room
Resorts World Catskills has upped the ante. The brand-new resort in Upstate New York has been receiving plenty of praise since opening and its latest endeavor should continue the stream of praise. It has now opened what is the biggest poker room in the state with a 5,000-square-foot room in Monticello, which is about 90 miles northwest of the city.
