After a wild Week 1 that featured countless comebacks, incredible individual performances, and some statement wins by legitimate Super Bowl contenders, the focus now shifts to Week 2 of the NFL season with a handful of excellent games on the slate. Here’s a look at the top five games to look forward to:
Minnesota Vikings @ Green Bay Packers
Odds: Packers -2.5
The Packers made it clear that they are ready to contend in the NFC once again following win over the Chicago Bears on the opening night of the season. Now they return home to face another of their biggest rivals in Minnesota, who made a statement with a 28-12 win over the Atlanta Falcons. All of a sudden, this is a matchup for the top spot in the division. Last season, these two teams played to a tie in Green Bay, so we’ll see if we get a winner this time.
Arizona Cardinals @ Baltimore Ravens
Odds: Ravens -13
Lamar Jackson put on a clinic in Week 1 when he became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for at least 300 yards and post a perfect passer rating. Now he gets the opportunity to dominate again in front of a packed house in Baltimore against another young passer in Kyler Murray. Ravens fans haven’t been this excited about their team’s prospects since their last Super Bowl win. Jackson versus Murray is a must-see matchup on Sunday afternoon.
Indianapolis Colts @ Tennessee Titans
Odds: Titans -3
While it might fly under the radar a little bit, the AFC South showdown between the Colts and Titans is one of the more intriguing games on the Week 2 schedule. Tennessee opened with an impressive win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 1. Now they return home with a chance to start 2-0 against an Indianapolis side that is still recovering from the loss of franchise quarterback Andrew Luck. Jacoby Brissett led an incredible comeback to force overtime against the Los Angeles Chargers last week but ultimately the Colts fell short.
New Orleans Saints @ Los Angeles Rams
Odds: Rams -2.5
It won’t take long to get that highly-anticipated NFC Championship Game rematch with the Saints headed to Los Angeles in Week 2. New Orleans was robbed of a trip to the Super Bowl by one of the most egregious missed calls in NFL history. Now they get a chance at redemption on the road against a Rams side that knows what to expect.
Cleveland Browns @ New York Jets
Odds: NO LINE
The Browns hype train came to a roaring halt in Week 1 as they lost by 30 at home to Tennessee. That should serve as motivation for Baker Mayfield and company, who travel to face the Jets on Monday Night Football. New York blew a 16-point lead at home to the Buffalo Bills in a Week 1 loss, so they should have their own motivations as they try to avoid a 0-2 start. With the top two quarterbacks from the 2018 NFL Draft class going head-to-head in prime time, MNF will be a can’t miss event in Week 2.
