This week’s poker news starts us off with a recap of the 2019 British Poker Open. Mikita Badziakouski and Ben Tollerene proved to be the headliners as they won big this past week.
Badziakouski, Tollerene The Big Winners At 2019 British Poker Open
Mikita Badziakouski and Ben Tollerene were the big winners at the 2019 British Poker Open. Badziakouski and Tollerene won the two biggest events that took place at the inaugural tournament. Badziakouski took home $1,089,000 when he won the 52,000 Euro no-limit hold’em event, which featured the largest prize pool of the entire series. This was Badziakouski’s 13th career score of at least $500,000 or more. He now sits at 15th on poker’s all-time money list. In addition to the incredible payout, Badziakouski earned 204 Card Player Player of the Year points for the victory.
While Badziakouski took home the biggest prize, it was Tollerene that took home the second-largest cash prize of the series when he won $1,106,400 by finishing on top in the 103,000 Euro buy-in no-limit hold’em main event draw. Only the top two finishers of the 12 entries in that event ended up cashing out. Unfortunately for Badziakouski, he placed third in that event and failed to make any additional money. Cary Katz took home $435,600 for his runner-up finish in that event.

Negreanu Moves Forward Selling Action To WSOP Europe Series
Daniel Negreanu is one of the most popular poker professionals on the planet. After a big summer, he’s looking to make headlines for his game once again. Negreanu started his summer with a divorce from the woman he spent 12 years with in poker personality Amanda Leatherman. Now, he is trying to switch courses and stick to his strengths with poker, selling three packages to the World Series of Poker in Europe. Those packages sold out in less than three minutes, but a glitch in the website allowed the pieces to oversell, which forced Negreanu to issue refunds.
With a month to go before the WSOP Europe begins in the Czech Republic, it will be interesting to see what else Negreanu gets up to. He’s already cashed in more than $2 million combined this summer, collecting wins 16 times and making four final tables. With lots of people buying into his World Series Of Poker chances at the 2019 Series, it will interesting to see how he fares.
