This week’s poker news starts off with a big power outage. PokerStars was down in the United States across several states for several days. The good news is that they’re back online. Here’s the latest:

PokerStars Crashes For Days In Different States

PokerStars had a really rough patch this weekend. The site recently announced that their platform went down in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan. Those are the only states in the country that PokerStars can legally operate in, so that means that they were down across the board.

According to PokerStars Twitter account, they know the exact cause of the issue. They released a tweet that said, “Due to unscheduled maintenance, all MTT’s have been canceled until Monday at 10 am EST. Our apologies for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.”

The software crash also shut down their cash games as well as tournaments. They claimed it was just a few different technical issues that appeared but it isn’t any privacy concern to be worried about. Apparently, players are already able to log in and manage their accounts even while the software is undergoing some issues.

Daniels Wins PokerGO Cup Event

Nobody was able to stop Jake Daniels during the 2022 PokerGo Cup. He competed in the $10,000 buy-in no-limit hold’em event, which was the third event in the series. He entered into the final table right in the middle of the six remaining competitors, then proceeded to eliminate all five of them himself to come in first place. He received the title and the top prize of $200,000.

Daniels has grown accustomed to winning throughout his poker career. This was the 11th six-figure score of his career and his fourth-largest one ever. When looking at his career tournament earnings, he is closing in on $2.6 million.

Daniels didn’t get this good on his own though. Apparently, he hired multiple coaches to help him improve his game and get to the point he is at now. After his huge win, he said that he has “put in a ton of work in the last five or six months trying to get better because these guys are so stinking good.”

Perry Claims First Place In PokerGo Cup Event Number Two

It was a banner week for Sean Perry at the PokerGo. The poker pro competed in the $10,000 buy-in event, the second of the PokerGo Cup. He had to overcome a field of 80 entries but that didn’t prove to be a problem for him as he battled through them all and wound up being the last man standing. The placement netted him a sizable check of $200,000.

This big score pushed his career tournament earnings over $5.1 million. It was the eighth win of his established career so far. It was also the second big cash out in the last two weeks, after he finished in third place in the $100,000 buy-in Stairway To Millions high roller, netting him $304,000.

On top of those wins, Perry had won five titles and made it into 20 different POY-qualified final tables during 2021. Those wins were enough to get him up to third place in the Card Player Player of the Year race.
