The odds to win the NFC divisions in 2020 have been posted and there aren’t too many surprises in terms of the NFL betting lines. The four teams that won the divisions last season are all favored (or co-favored) to win the divisions again in 2020.
Let’s do a tour of the four divisions and check in on the updated betting lines for each team.
NFC East 2020 Odds
The Dallas Cowboys (+120) and Philadelphia Eagles (+120) duked it out for the top spot in the NFC East last season and the oddsmakers seem to think they’re the top two contenders once again. The Cowboys had a positive offseason as they kept Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper on the roster, while the Eagles were busy too as they acquired Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay.
As for the New York Giants (+900) and Washington Redskins (+1000), both teams are rebuilding and aren’t viewed as serious contenders right now.
NFC North Division Winner Bet
The NFC North figures to be quite competitive but the Green Bay Packers (+125) have opened as the favorites. They have been mostly quite in free agency but after seeing the Minnesota Vikings (+185) defense get stripped for parts and the team trading away Stefon Diggs, the Packers have to feel pretty good about standing pat right about now.
As for the Chicago Bears (+400), they acquired Nick Foles and Jimmy Graham to boost the offense but it’s hard to say if those changes really changed the Bears’ odds much in their favor.
The Detroit Lions (+850) are viewed as the weakest team in the division but keep in mind they were in first place in the NFC North in late September before injuries took their toll and torpedoed their 2019 campaign.
NFC South Futures Bets for 2020
The New Orleans Saints (-135) are still favored in the NFC South but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+200) are hot on their trail after signing quarterback Tom Brady. The Bucs figure to have a lethal offense but the defense and other aspects of the team need work. As for the Atlanta Falcons (+600), they made some big moves in acquiring tight end Hayden Hurst (to replace Austin Hooper), pass rusher Dante Fowler Jr., and signed running back Todd Gurley. This is a team that won six of their final eight games, so they are hoping that they can springboard off of that.
Lastly, we’ve got the Carolina Panthers (+2000), who have a new head coach in Matt Rhule and a new starting quarterback in Teddy Bridgewater. The book has been closed on the Cam Newton era but it looks like this team is heading for a long rebuild.
NFC West Division Winner Betting Odds
The San Francisco 49ers (+105) are not only the defending NFC West champs, they also won the NFC last year. That’s why they’ve opened as the favorite here once again. They’re returning most of their 2019 team intact, although they did wave goodbye to Emmanuel Sanders and DeForest Buckner.
The Seattle Seahawks (+250) odds are not far behind while the Los Angeles Rams (+375) and Arizona Cardinals (+750) round out the rest of the group. The Cardinals will be an interesting team to watch as they acquired DeAndre Hopkins. That should give the offense and second-year quarterback Kyler Murray a big weapon to work with.
