Nevada Taking Steps To Ban Steve Wynn From Casino Industry For Life
The Nevada Gaming Control Board is taking measures to ban Las Vegas magnate Steve Wynn from the casino industry for life. A complaint was filed by that group which stated that Wynn is, “not a person of good character, honesty, and/or integrity.” After the latest round of Wynn allegations, it seems like everyone is trying to disassociate themselves from the casino magnate.
Wynn, who is estimated to have a net worth of $3.1 billion by Forbes, has faced multiple sexual misconduct allegations dating back to 2018. The 23-page complaint by the board references those misconduct allegations, which have included multi-million dollar settlements and executives participating in cover-ups on Wynn’s behalf. The board is hoping to revoke Wynn’s gaming license for life.
Steve Wynn resigned from his namesake company, Wynn Resorts, last year following the rash of allegations against him. The representatives for Wynn have not yet responded to the latest move brought against him by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Gambler Robbed By Woman Who Spiked His Drink At South Florida Casino
A tourist enjoying a night out at a local casino in South Florida was conned into giving up $1,000 in cash and a Rolex watch that is worth $15,000. According to authorities, the man had his drink spiked by two women at the casino before they brought him back to his hotel room and proceeded to rob him of the cash and jewelry.
Surveillance video from the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood shows the two women talking to the man as he is playing at a video poker machine. The video captures the moment that one of the women pours a substance in to the man’s drink and gives it to him after they move over towards the slot machines. Video from outside of the casino shows the women helping the man to a vehicle, which then transported the three of them to the man’s hotel room.
The man claims that he lost consciousness after returning to the hotel room and when he woke up, his money and his watch had been taken from him. Detectives have released the video of the incident to the public and have offered a reward up to $3,000 for help in the case.
Majority Of Japanese Public Opposed To Government Building Casino Resorts
Although the Japanese market seems ripe for casinos and gambling, the locals don’t share the same optimism as the country’s government.
The majority of Japanese citizens are against their government’s plans to build integrated gambling resorts around the country. According to the results of an October poll, 57.9% of the respondents have disagreed with the government’s plan to create three casino-resorts in Japan. The results of that vote highlight the widespread concern that public security will deteriorate as a result of the addition of those gambling havens.
As of right now, eight regions of the country are set to bid for the casinos, including Hokkaido, Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Wakayama, the Nagasaka prefectures, the Osaka prefectures and the cities of Chiba. It’s unlikely that this really puts a dent in those plans but it is alarming that the citizens are not for legalized gambling.
